STEPHANIE ARMBRUSTER works primarily a mixed-medium painter, creating luminous, translucent surfaces by suspending pigment, drawings and ephemera between layers of resin and wax.

Influenced by her experiences navigating abandoned and liminal spaces and inspired by the shifting environment surrounding her, Stephanie creates works that respond to the ephemeral nature of transitional landscapes. Much like their inspiration, each painting is a densely layered accumulation of structure and symbolism - provisional histories, recalling a subjective sense of place.
