The portfolio of artist Stephanie Armbruster is a densely layered exploration of subjective memory through abstracted association and imagery. Composed of suggested landscapes, gestural drawings, photographs and ephemera layered with mixed-medium painting and printmaking techniques, each series presents an abstracted accumulation of symbols. Suggestions of things to come and fragments that have been cast aside hint at a visual narrative that can never be reassembled or viewed in its entirety.
